Leighton is a month old!! Okay, she was 3 weeks ago.....

I wrote this like 2 weeks ago....and I am just now getting around to posting it....life of a mom of two...story of my life! HA!
Miss Leighton, how in the world are you already one month old?
I feel like every post like these I write and read start out like that, but I have never felt it to be more true!!
I mean I still forget that I am not pregnant...it has all gone by way too fast!
It has been an amazing month, and I cannot imagine life without you anymore!
You are our sweet and oh so chill baby girl, I didn't think you could get more chill than your big sister..but you proved me wrong!
Your sweet little coos make me squeal & beam from ear to ear and I cannot get enough of your precious smiles! I know how fast this all goes by, so I am trying so hard to take every little bit in and savor it!

You are a good sleeper, although you are still waking up once every night.
I know, I know, that is totally normal...but we got spoiled with your big sis sleeping through the night at 2 1/2 weeks!
I don't feed you every night when you wake up though because more nights than not, you wake up around 4 or 5 with a big diaper. We change you, give you your paci, and you are out!
(Again, THANKS Moms on Call!!)
You did, however, sleep a full 9 hours....once....and it was glorious! Let's do that again, mmkay?

We just switched you over to size 1 diapers, kind of an accident, but it seems to be helping for those longer sleep stretches at night.
(your sister was trying to help change your diaper...I walked into the room to find you like this! :))
Sadly, the bfeeding didn't work out for us this go 'round...but for very different reasons than with your sister (that's a whole 'nother post). It was hard on Momma, but your Daddy and I decided to do what was best for us....so after about 3 weeks of bfeeding/pumping, we had to go the formula route....but we got no complaints from you!
I'm not sure exactly how much you weigh, but I am dying to know as you are an eater!!
You are getting 3.5 ounces 5 times a day and 4 ounces 2 times, for a total of 25.5 ounces a day! And I swear you want more, moving that up, little by little to 4 ounces at every feeding.
You have pretty much lived in your gowns, with a few newborn pieces in there that are getting small very quickly! While I am excited to get you into all those fabulous new little outfits we got for you, it makes me sad that you are growing oh so fast!
Like I said, you love your sleep, but when you are awake, you are too sweet!
You love your mat....tummy time on your good days, but I can lay you on your mat for like 20 minutes at a time and you just lay there and coo and talk (and I LOVE it!). I think a big part of that is that your sister is constantly down there with you....petting your sweet head, talking to you, trying to change your diaper, giving you your paci...and sometimes even trying to pick you up! Your big sis loves you so much. Every time someone walks into a room holding you, she starts waving and saying "Hi!" or "helay" her version of Hey Lei! It is THE SWEETEST!!!!
You are just like E with your baths....looove the bath, hate the getting out/cold. We were so happy when your cord fell off to do big girl baths, and so were you!
Your favorite place is your swing (other than Momma's arms, of course!), with the rock in play coming in a close second, and the monkey chair is slowly working its way into the rotation. You love to sit up on our shoulders so you can look around, see everyone and start chatting. Speaking of, you are holding your head up ALL the time, it's kind of crazy actually!
Leighton, you are such a sweet and chill baby girl and you have completed this little family of ours! Your Daddy and I are so blessed to have you, and your sister already misses you when she can't see you....yaaaaaayyy!! BFFs from the beginning! That makes my heart whole.

While learning how to do this "mommy of 2 under 2" thing ain't easy, you have made it easier than I could have ever dreamed! We love you to the moon and back, Leighton Kate.
XOXO, Momma

so so sweet that big sister is not jealous of her new baby sister. Love that she tries to help even if that means taking her diaper off of her sister hahah

ok and whats your trick for newborn sleeping through the night. Sadly this is the thing I am most worried about being up multiple times a night.

She is just perfect and the absolute double of her big sis! I have followed you since just before E was born but am never sure if I have commented so hello and congratulations on your gorgeous girls!!

Never stress yourself about FF VS BF, I know they say 'breast is best' but I believe that what is best is a happy mama!

Looking forward to reading about your adventures as a mama of 2!! Xx
