We are a little over a week from Christmas -eek!!
And that also means, it's my birthday week - double eek!!
We won't talk about age, mkay?
I have a bit of a picture overload for you on this lovely Monday morning.
We had quite a busy weekend filled with Holiday goodness, so I was sure to take
too many lots of pics!
Thursday night started out with our Annual Ladies Christmas Supper Club. We always bring a few of our favorite holiday apps/desserts and then have an ornament swap along with bringing a gift for Toys-for-Tots. We are going on 4 years now, and I love doing! :)
Sadly we took no pictures of that little party....but I do have a pic of our playdate pajama party from earlier that week! :)
We were missing our sweet Stoneking girls, but we did get to add sweet little Kate this time! :)
Okay on to the weekend.
Friday, Momma and I got some much needed Christmas Shopping done!
Elise, of course, was a big help!
I also proceeded to buy my first pair of matching PJs for my girls.....I could die.....I see a lot more of these in out future!
Then after hours and hours of shopping and almost finishing it all, we headed home where my in-laws had arrived.
Then, something awesome happened....The Hubs and I had a date night!
It's been a while since that happened.
It was so nice and fun to be just us, at one of our favorite restaurants.
Must do that more often!
Saturday we headed to downtown Franklin (I love our new little town!!!) to attend one of our very favorite Christmas events, "A Dickens of a Christmas". We have gone for the past 3 years and we just love it. They shut down the square and have all sorts of fabulous holiday vendors along with Christmas Carols, buggy rides, nativity animal petting zoo (where I saw the biggest rabbit I have ever seen in my life - seriously, it was like the size of our puggle...), over 250 people dressed in Dickens character get-ups, and of course good old fashioned greasy street food. Apple strudels, funnel cakes, corn dogs, popcorn, hot chocolate, fried twinkies, french fries, nutella egg rolls....all calorie free, of course - it's the holidays!
We all got bundled up!
Fun with Nana & Papa!
I love this pic of Laura and I and our girls!
We had lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, 55 South, on the square....where Laura and I proceeded to get a bag of "donuts" as an appetizer....they were beignets, and they were glorious!
We headed home shortly after that as Eleanor was already passed out and E wasn't far from it.
E and I took a nap and woke up to find Leighton's crib put together!!!
My awesome father-in-law did it for us!
AND I LOVE IT!!!
It's Jenny Lind, and I got on sale Cyber Monday for $150 plus free shipping! SWEET!
E approves :)
Saturday night we had the idea to go to Opryland to look at the lights, but we quickly nixed that idea due to the crazy crazy crowds!
So we had dinner in, watched The Heisman Award Ceremony, CMA Country Christmas, and I put together one of E's many Christmas presents!
It's that fabulous $20 table from Ikea! I also started painting it yesterday.
I painted the top chalkboard and have the primer on the rest, hoping to finish it up tonight.
I am going paint it a minty green/turquoise color and then the dip look on the bottom in gold. I can't wait to get it finished. I think she is going to LOVE it!
Sunday we headed to Cheekwood Botanical Gardens for their holiday festivities.
We started out with lunch at the Pineapple Room where I proceeded to eat this for dessert....
I'm so gonna fail that glucose test...ha!
They have live reindeer there, who were actually featured in the December issue of Southern Living! :)
Elise loved them. She wanted to get out of her stroller so bad, but it was so cold we wanted her to stay bundled up. But she kept pointing at them and talking to them. It was the sweetest!
While waiting to see Santa we headed up to the mansion to see all the decorations.
They had a display of trees all over the mansion, each tree having a different color in each room.
I wish I had taken more pictures of them, they were all gorgeous!
The purple tree, this pic clearly doesn't do it justice, it was my favorite one! :)
The green tree
I'm not sure if she is completely aware of who Santa is, but every time we say his name she gets SUPER excited!
So it is now almost 2:00 and the child has yet to have a nap...all day! We did what we had to while we waiting in line for 20 minutes....she did so good.
So, it wasn't really that she didn't like Santa - there were no tears - but she didn't want to sit still. At All.
So Daddy and I had to get in the pic with her! :)
I actually love it. Our last Christmas with just E, so it was a special pic! :)
PS, that Santa was amazing. He was so so sweet and accommodating! If you are local to Nashville, I recommend going there to see him! :) They also have lots of arts and crafts and other goodies for kids while they wait to visit Santa, activities I know E will love when she gets a little older!
We finished up Sunday with The Hubs and my FIL picking up Leighton's dresser (YAY!) and me finishing up the Christmas shopping. I'm done. Thank. Goodness!! :)
And then I spent the rest of the night wrapping, wrapping, and wrapping some more! I just have a little more to do, just waiting on them to arrive!
So as you can tell by my total picture overload, it was an absolutely fabulous and festive weekend!
Sad it's over, but enjoyed every second with family and friends!
I've got another full week ahead of me - lots more festiveness!! :)
Hope you all had a equally fab weekend!
