Elise's Nursery - The Beginning

So I thought I would share with you the nursery so far......

First, we will start with the paint color:

I did 4 samples and ultimately we decided on this...

Misty Teal by Benjamin Moore

Here is a pic I found of a big sample (better than the pic I have), 

it's second from the right going around the plug.

Don't you love it!!?!?!

Next, the crib:

I had about 5 picked out, but my biggest stipulations were clean lines, tall on the sides rather than the back, open, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I found this beauty for $340 and with free shipping a discount code I got it for just under $300!! Sweet!

I decided to do a dresser as the changing table, thought that would be better as a transitional piece. 

I needed one with lots of storage and was a certain size....found this one on Amazon and love it! :) 

Next, the wardrobe:

 There is one in the room right now and I love it, but it is dark wood and that didn't really go with my vision....so I found this one on Ikea. 

It's sweet, right? 

I am going to switch out the handles for something softer and more girly, but for $100 it makes me very happy!

And last the glider:

I was stressing about this one. 

They are all so expensive and I know they take a while to get in so we needed to make a decision ASAP! 

All I wanted was a white glider that looked like a nice piece of furniture. 

Not off white, not a rocking chair, and not $800!

Well, I happened to take mom out to USA Baby last week while we were out furniture shopping for her to show her an idea of what I was looking for and they were having a sale....not a huge sale, but a sale. 

Aaaaaaannnnnddd the awesomeness that is mama bought us one! 

HUGE relief!

We got this one.....

but in this white material...

for $450! Sweeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!

So those are all our purchases from last week. 

Needless to say, the nursery is moving right along, and that makes a pregnant lady very very very happy!

Once I get all of the furniture in and the room painted I can start with the decorating part! 

Here is the rug I think I have decided on....now I just need to figure out pink or green.....

And of course the lighting...

 I have loved this light from Ikea for a long time. I think it is girly but funky all at the same time....which is kind of the theme I am going for for the room....girly and funky!

But I am also tossing around the idea of a chandelier too....

especially one with pink.... :) 

Sooooo, that's where we are at so far!

It's Wednesday, already! Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!Can't believe we are already half way through the week, but I'll take it! :)  I thought I would play along with Oh, how Pinteresting today as it has been a while since I have played.   It's been a while since I have played around on Pinterest for that matter, but I did for a bit last night and I found some good finds....

Absolute genius. Seriously, I cannot tell you how hard it is to explain what can and can't go in the dryer to The Hubs....I will say that he has gotten pretty good...but this is no fail!

Le Bebe, 23 weeks

A little recap from the beginning

How Far Along? 23 weeks, 4 days – only 115 days to go!

Size? One says ear of corn, 8.5 inches, and weighs 1.5 pounds
the other says a large mango, 11 inches, and just over a pound
Maternity Clothes? No big change, wearing regular dresses....still not feeling pants....other than my maternity leggings, the are my bff.
Weight Gain? I'm gonna guess 10-11 lbs we shall see at my doctors appointment next week...
Stretch Marks? Nope, but lathering up with that Burt’s Bees Mama Belly Butter!
Gender? Sugar and Spice and everything nice!
Sleep? still not good, I am oh so tired but have so much planning going on in this crazy head of mine that it keeps me up and I can't sleep (have you seen "I Don't Know How She Does It"? that party where she is laying in bed writing out lists and stuff on the ceiling...yea, that's me)....then when I finally do, I wake up and I am on my back, so then I worry little Elise was having trouble! Ugggh, come back to me sleep...I miss you.

Movement? Yes, and lots of it...it never gets old!!
Food Cravings? still loving caeser salad and my latest obsession in Frosted Cinnamon Toast Crunch - with milk or dry...it is delightful!
Anything making you queasy or sick? I think I have overdone it with grapes......they aren't making me sick, I just don't want them anymore....never thought I would see the day!
Labor signs? this will be crazy when I answer anything other than no!
Belly button in or out? still in...and hopefully will be for a long time!!
Wedding rings, on or off? still on and loose actually
What I Miss? vino. Went out Saturday night to the Ryman with friends and I would have loved to partake in some Cabernet action! 
Symptoms? heartburn, for serious...that crap sneaks up on ya!
Happy or Moody? I think I am a little moody....I believe that is due to serious lack of sleep! 
Best Moment of the Week? I got 2! First, baby girl got her first acceptance letter!! She is now enrolled at one of the best pre-school/daycares in Nashville! I am sooooooooooo excited and that is a big relief off my back!! :) Second, I got just about all the furniture ordered for the nursery!! YAY!! I will do a full post on the details!
Looking forward to..all the stuff for the nursery coming in and painting this weekend!

I need a favor...

So this stupid delay-posting thing is not getting any better. That Oscar post...I did at about 9:30 this morning....it showed up in the reader around 3:00pm....WTH?!?
I tried subscribing to my new domain and it is MUCH faster...still a delay, but only about 10 minutes.

My version of Fashion Police

It's Monday...how did that happen?! 

Did anyone else's weekend fly by!??!

Ours was action packed, dinner with friend for birthday on Friday, 

bridesmaid dress shopping and errand running on Saturday, 

Lewis Black and the Ryman with one of our favorite couples on Saturday night.

then dinner with the folks at Bonefish last night (yum!!)

All wrapped up with more blackberry cobbler on the couch watching The Oscars! 

 

 So of course, I have my version of Fashion Police....

We will start with the worst:

Not a fan....

Really? Who thought it was a good idea to sequin a bowling shirt and make it a dress?

Her stylist should be fired, wasn't she on my worst list last year too?

 I just don't know what is going on here...the hair, the fully sequined dress, I just think she looks like something out of futuristic movie...and I am not feeling it.

 I had to do double take...a couple times....to figure out who this was. 

She looks waaaay too old for her age. I thought it was Kate Winslet...which isn't a bad person to look like expect that she is probably about 20 year older!

Terrible. I hated it. Her hair looked fried, she looks border line crack addict, her skin was way to pasty to be poking that leg out all night - and how stupid and annoying was that!??! 

Close your legs Angelina!!

Can you tell I am not a fan?!

 Really?!?! Fire your stylist, honey.

 Was she trying to be a dressy lady bug?!

Next up, my "I like the effort, but not sure the final look was there..."

A for Effort!

Okay, I love Meryl Streep, she is fabulous. And I do love this dress...I just feel like it is a lot of material and it doesn't seem to fit her right? Is it just me?

 Again, I adore her...one of my faves! But again again, a lot of material...and that bow is a little much for me.

 This would have been gorgeous without that stupid rosette thing....what is that!?

 I just don't know...I love this in some pics and in others I just don't think it is flattering at all.

Now on to the best part.....the best dressed!

 Loved this too, she just needs a pretty earring!

 Looooooooooove this! Love! The color, the feathery-ness of it, her hair and her make-up!

 This color is fabulous...and she is fabulous!

As I have mentioned before I am not a huge fan of the full sequins....but I do love this. Her hair looks great with the one strap and the earrings.

 Weird hair, but hey, that's her! And that dress is awesome, I think it is my second top pick!

 Simple and pretty!

 Another one of my top faves! Love the clean lines and then the waterfall!

 And she is just fabulous, soooooooo glad she won!!

 I believe this is my winner, my absolute fave...minus the bow....but I love the tiers of this dress and the way it fit her. Lovely.
