My little weekend recap

Hello and happy Monday to you all!
I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.....I did!
Friday was spent cooking dinner for my folks as, yes, they were in town again! :)
But I think we may have some big news I can finally share in a day or so....fingers crossed!

I made this yummy pork tenderloin...

And this yummy salad I found on Natasha's blog, Hello!Happiness....and lemme just say, it is one of my new faves!! SOOOOOOOOO yummy!!

Autumn Chopped Salad

Photo Courtesy of Richard Swearinger, BHG Food Editor Extraordinaire

*6 to 8 cups chopped romaine lettuce
*2 medium pears, chopped
*1 cup dried cranberries
*1 cup chopped pecans
*8 slices thick-cut bacon, crisp-cooked and crumbled
*4 to 6 oz. feta cheese, crumbled
*Poppy seed Salad Dressing (I like T. Marzetti)
*Balsamic Vinaigrette (I like Newman's Own Light Balsamic Vinaigrette)

*On a large platter, combine the lettuce, pears, cranberries, pecans, bacon and feta cheese. Drizzle generously with poppy seed dressing, followed by some of the balsamic vinaigrette. (I would estimate that I used about a cup of dressing: 70 percent poppy seed dressing and 30 percent balsamic vinaigrette) If you prefer your salad to have more dressing, feel free to experiment with the combination.

And smashed red potatoes with butter, garlic, parsley, salt, & pepper...super easy and suuuuuper yummy!
And for dessert, a freshly baked Devils Food Cake! YUM!! (definitely had my fill of calories that night! :) ).

Saturday, Mom and I woke up early to do a little Target shopping before they went house hunting again...and we found some fabulous sweaters, for both me and her pups, fabulous Christmas wrapping paper, a duvet, some dogging Christmas treats....and of course popcorn....even if it was only smells so damn good!

The Hubs got back from hunting and we went on a little photo shoot for our Christmas card....yes, uber slacker Sarah here....never again will I wait that long.
But the pictures turned out great and the cards are ordered and should be here in a couple days! Thank God! :)
Here's a sneak peak...

We then watched the SEC championship game...which wasn't too exciting....

Then we got ready for our First Christmas Party of the year!
It was just a small little dinner party with about 7 couples.
I made these yummy delights but with the mint oreos....and they were just a fabulous little holiday dessert! :)
Here are a few pics I got from the night....nothing really telling or exciting...
Little AR and TH loving on each cute is that tutu!!?!?!
And then it was Dirty Santa Time....The Hubs and I's contribution was a shake it was quite the hit....
Laurie got it...and it was hysterical...she didn't know what to do with it...and then we all started trying to do it...
She was crying she was laughing so hard!
And the best BFF, Laura, and her hubby also gave a shake weight.....if that doesn't say BFF, I don't know what does! HA!!
Here is one of the other awesome gifts....yes, that is a flying duck on a blanket....classy!

It was a fabulous party! Great way to start off the Holiday Party Season!
We've got a family Christmas this weekend and another Christmas Party Saturday night with another game of Dirty Santa....hmmm, what to get!??! Any ideas?!?!

Sunday, I got is a sneak peak of that...

I also found a fabulous snag on some dupioni silk curtains at TJ 2 panels with grommets for $20!! Whaaaat?!?!?!? Yeah and they look fabulous...

See I bought the ones below when our walls were like a tan color....then we painted and they kind of blended in with the color....and I wasn't crazy about that....but always forgot about it until they were staring me in the face....
Here are a few befores....
And the quick afters I took this morning running out the door...excuse the bad lighting....but they make a HUGE difference!!
And we finished up the weekend watching this movie...

And I must say that I did like it....totally reignited my crush/love affair with JT and I love Mila Kunis too...they are a cute little couple if you ask me....

So that was our weekend!
Ready to take on the week!!
