What I did last Friday....

I thought I would share another quick project I did last week. I had a painting on the wall of our guest room that was a gift, and although very pretty, it just totally didn't go. And for some reason last week I decided to do quick fixes for the few things that were bothering me.

I decided to start this just a couple hours before my guests arrived and I did it in about an hour. I already had the canvases and paint, all I had to do was buy the painters tape!

I started with 2 canvases, placed them next to each other...

then I started taping them off.
I took and knife and cut the middle thinking I was going to paint the edges too....but I decided I wanted to do blended greens instead of a solid color and that would be a little more than I had bit off. So, it could have been left together.

The edges started coming up a bit, but just pressing and pushing with my nails helped. I didn't want a solid line, so a little movement was okay.

Then I started painting!

Here are the 3 colors I mixed together....and see my re-use of all my smut magazines! :)

Let it dry for a few minutes.......

Then pulled off the paint and painted the edges with white paint to clean up any of the green.

Then I hung them!

Looks like Bamboo!
If I had had more time I would have painted the background first, a light ivory shade, and then do the green stripes over it.....buuuut, like I said I had little time. I will probably get a glaze and tint it a bit and go back over the whole thing. But hey, for an hour and $3 I think this does the trick! :)
Happy Weekend everyone!!
