TGIF - A Fun New Little Game

Happy Friday, Ladies - TGIF, seriously! It has been one humdinger of a week and I am beyond thrilled that the work week is coming to an end! The in-laws are coming in town tonight for a short visit and then I plan on some whiskey drinkin' and derby watchin' tomorrow!

Today I am going to play along with Lauren over at the little things {a lovely new blog - well new to me, anyway - I have come to adore} and her "fill in the blank friday".

This week is the movie edition - and I am a movie lover, I could seriously pick about 5 answers for each one, but I did my best - so here goes...

1. My absolute favorite movie of all time is Okay I have several and really can’t pick just one so here is my list – romance, “The Notebook” {no explanation needed} – comedy, I am going to have to 2nd Lauren, “Anchorman” is flat out hysterical {sadly, I can quote the entire movie} - drama/action, “The Departed”, I love love love Scorsese {Casino, Gangs of New York, Goodfellas - love him!} and this movie just freakin rocks.

2. My favorite movie as a child was "Troop Beverly Hills” I was obsessed with this movie. When it comes on I still watch it and can sing the Cookie Time song…I am singing it as we speak….my brother loathes and I mean loathes this movie thanks to me! :)

3. The best movie quote ever is Okay, I really don’t know if I can top Lauren’s - "The Notebook" when Noah says, "So it's not gonna be easy. It's gonna be really hard. We're gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, you and me, everyday” , I mean that is just perfect.......beautiful and perfect.

But I do find myself quoting “Christmas Vacation” year round, so here goes “Hey! If any of you are looking for any last-minute gift ideas for me, I have one. I'd like Frank Shirley, my boss, right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people and I want him brought right here, with a big ribbon on his head, and I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is! Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where's the Tylenol?"

4. My favorite actress is Julia Roberts, I have a lot I love, but she is just fabulous! I just think we would be bffs. :)  Also My favorite actor is Tom Hanks, he is just awesome. In everything. Awesome.

5. The movie I could watch over and over is “Steel Magnolias” I grew up watching this movie with my mom and my aunt. I know every word and I know how it is going to end, and I cry every single time - but yet, I continue to watch it every time it is on…… it’s like “Beaches” or “Marley and Me” - the hubs comes up and ask if I'm crying, I sniffle a big "noooo" he laughs - why do I do this to myself?!?!??!

6. My favorite movie genre is I am going to go with romance, whether it be a comedy or drama – I am just a sucker for a good ole' love a good love story!!

7. A movie I'd like to watch this weekend is I really want to see “Remember Me” but sadly I don't this it is out yet.......so we will go with "It's Complicated"

So there you have it, I have sooooo many other faves -but I won't bore you! You can check out Lauren's blog and play along and link up!

Happy Weekend to all of you lovely ladies!!
{and men if you are out there:)}

Thoughtless Thursday - Literally

No really - I am pretty much out of anything clever, informative, witty, or funny - I think it was the fact that I had a little too much fun last night with my ladies at "Wine Down Wednesday"! Or the fact that it has been an uber busy week. Or the fact that my not so dear friend, stress, will not leave me alone. Who knows, but the week is almost over and I am thoroughly enjoying reading my fellow bloggers - you ladies are putting out some good ones today!

Soooooooo, that makes the fact that today is Thoughtless Thursday juuuuust perfect!
Photobucket
Here are some pics......but first let me give you the 411 on the fabulousness that is Wine Down

It is at Urban Flats, it is 20 bucks and you get 8 tickets each worth a "half" of a glass of wine, now I put that in quotation marks because their half a glass is a super-d-duper half a glass! Or if you find a wine you really like, give them 2 tickets and they give you a jumbo glass! Aaaand they also serve flatbread pizzas, hummus {and they have a fabulous variety of hummus!}, fresh fruits, and pastas - all included in the 20 bucks!! And letmetellyou it is a lovely way to spend a Wednesday with your girls! Okay, I am once again promoting someone else's business - I should really start getting paid for this.....

Jennifer's face after the 3 of us started talking about having babies... :) HA!

Good times with my ladies and we will definitely be hitting it up again! :)

Now, I am off to lunch with the hubs in the park! He's a good man!

Head over to Katie's to play along and wish her a BIG congrats {you will see what I mean when you get there! :)}

Spicing The House Up - just a little....again........

I have been slacking on the blogging world this week...my bad - been very busy at work and then oh so tired when I get home! I had a relaxing lazy weekend around the house with the hubs and the pups and it was just lovely!!

Sitting at the house so much made me think of a few things I would like to do to spice things up but without costing a fortune. Sooooo, being the visual person I am - I made pictures!!! :)

There is a big empty wall in our kitchen and I have been wanting to paint it with the chalkboard paint since we moved in like this....
(with cuter silver letters that say eat in lower case, but this was the best I could find to give you (and the hubs) an idea of what I meant.

But then I loved the idea of doing a black and white picture wall with a framed chalkboard too.....

For the den, I want a new entertainment system, new art and new lamps.....

but which lamps.....

Then the bedroom,  I want to move the bed to the center of the far wall to make it more symmetrical (symmetry is my friend) and add new lamps and a rug.....

but which one?!?!

So, all of these things are little and pretty easy things I can do one at a time - but will make it feel new again - I just can't seem to stop......

Sooooo, whaddya think? Any thoughts, suggestions, opinions are greatly appreciated! :)

Happy Hump Day Folks!!

Thoughtless Thursday - I'll Be There For You.....

These five words I swear to you
When you breathe I want to be the air for you
I-'ll be there for you
I'd live and I'd die for you
Steal the sun from the sky for you
Words can't say what a love can do
I-'ll be there for you!!!!

Did ya like that?! That is my Bon Jovi Jam, and yes he played it just for little 'ol me last night!

And since today is Thoughtless Thursday, which is an ode to all things pictures, I figured what better way to share my Bon Jovi pics!?!?
Photobucket
My good friend Mrs. Taylor got free tix at the last minute and we thought what the hell,  it'll be fun {and you will never see either one of us turn down tix to any show!}! And boy was it?!?! We had an absolute blast!! Went and had some cocktails and apps on a rooftop patio, which was just delightful, then headed over to the GEC, Sommet Center, Bridgestone Arena {for those of you foreign to Nashvegas, our lovely arena changes names quite often....it is pretty humorous}with all the hundreds of women re-living their "good ol' days" for some sweet Bon Jovi Action. I will say this, Bon Jovi needs to stick to the good old stuff. They played all kind of new stuff and no one knew what the hell they were singing. Buuuut, when they started blaring
Shot Through the heart
And your to-o blame
Darlin, you give lo-ove
A bad name!
Everyone lost it!! It was pretty cool to see Jon and Richie still rockin' it! Sooo, without further adieu.....

Us on the patio at Rippys
we were there until it got dark.....which made for a fun evening...

Dashboard Confessional opened up...only got to hear one song :(

 almost there and....
 we are excited!
Such anticipation......and then he opened up the most boring song that no one knew....it was kinda sad...

lovin' it!

 Dawn was crushing their heads....
then we decided we needed teased 80s hair!
 yeah....I dunno....we tried with no hair spray or mirror....{ps, I need a freakin' tan!}
then, our neighbor whipped out a can of hairspray....no sheit, for rizeal - an aerosal can of hairspray! Suuu-weeettt!!!

wow, can't believe I am posting this.....this is when they played "I'll be there for you "....can you tell I was rocking out?!?!?

So that's it - we had a blast - and I am super duber sleepy today because of it!

Now head over to Katie's, read, share, and link up!!!

It's almost Friday!!

Pure Genius!!

Happy Hump Day to all!!

Today would normally be my Wishful Wednesday post, but sadly this week's topic does not pertain to me......it is about the show, Glee, and I have yet to add that to my ever-growing list of shows to DVR....so sadly, I cannot play today :(.

But as I was reading through my {also ever growing} blog lists I found an absolutely genius idea on one of my fave new blogs! The blog I am referring to is Aesthetic Oiseau, which is all things interior design, DIY, and decorating. I love all the pics and ideas she gives!! If you like any of the said descriptions, do check her blog out! This lovely little blog just introduced me to yet another new blog I will be following {told ya, ever growing!}, High-Heeled Foot in the Door. This girl came up with this fabulous idea to make your own rug!!

I mean look at this.....I can't believe she made it! And it is something anyone can do!!
You can check out the uber simple step by step directions here!

As most of you know the hubs and I have been re-doing several rooms in the house, which you can read about here and here. I have had quite the dilemma finding a rug that I love AND does not break our budget {which has been quite the task for our bedrooms}, so this is absolute genius to me!! I have already sent the info to momma and let her know this will be our next project to start ASAP!! I love it!!

On another note, one of my BFFs was given free tickets to Bon Jovi tonight, so we thought, what the hell?!!? So, will be rocking out to all things 80s tonight.....should be interesting! :) Pics to come tomorrow!!

Have a fabulous Wednesday, Ladies!!

Top 2 Tuesday - Fav Items Under 15 dolla!

Happy Tuesday to all you lovelies out there!! It's Tuesday and time for The Undomestic Momma's Top 2 Tuesday!! I missed last week {I was giving a lovely tribute to my lovely momma on her lovely b-day} so I am back and rarin' to go!!

This week's topic - Fav Items Under $15

I hav a lot of things under $15 that I love and don't want to live  cannot live with out, but I do believe these are my top 2....

1. Paul Mitchell Root Lifter
I am obsessed with this stuff and have been for about 7 years now! You squirt it into wet hair at the root and rub in - that's it! And believe you me, I can tell the difference when I don't use it {which has only happened about twice in the past said 7 years}. It doesn't make your hair feel all producty {another new word} and gets it off your head! And okay, with taxes {especially TN tax} it may be just a little over $15, but whatev - I LOVE IT!!!

2. these handy dandy light tube tob thingees {another new word}

They are light, thin, comfortable, come in every color you could possibly imagine, and CHEAP! I have about 6 of them and I wear them under all kind of stuff! They are great for all those summer dresses that may show a little too much of the girls or any shirt for that matter! I am actually wearing one right now!! They are fabulous! And the best part, they are only $8!!!

***Update - since several of you lovelies have asked...... I bought most of mine at a little boutique in Jackson, MS with a few I found at TJ Maxx {I heart that store!}, but found them online here! Buy a few, you will thank me later!! :)

So, there are my faves under $15! Head over to Taylor's, share yours, and link up!!

Trip to the Sip!!

Happy Monday Folks!!!
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend enjoying the lovely weather that is Spring!!!
I know I did!!

As previously mentioned, the hubs and the pups and I took a weekend trip to good ole' Mississippi to see my folks. My parents now live in North Mississippi which is pretty much Memphis, so we have a good time when we go! That being said, if you go past the month of April you know you are in Mississippi when you get out of the car - meaning the humidity and sticky hotness smacks you in the face - and I am not exaggerating - and then there are the crazy mosquitoes MS breeds!! I warned my friends and hubby on their first trips to MS in the summer and they didn't believe me....well, they quickly learned it is a whole nother kinda hot there!! :)
Okay, now that I have gone waaaaaaaay off track, my point was - we got to enjoy my parent's lovely patio as well as the lovely patios of a few watering holes which is rare when we visit. It was a relaxing, beautiful, family-filled, over-eating trip!! Maylie had a HUGE time! Her and Mr. Man were spoiled like crazy, like any grand baby should be!! :) I have a TON of pics of the pup, but not very many of anything else because my camera died and I am a slacker who didn't bring her charger!! GASP!!! I know, it will never happen again!! But good news is I found my camera cord!! :) One of these days I am going to buy a grown up camera.........

On to the massive amounts of puppy pics!!
{And PS, she has grown 1 inch taller and 2 inches longer in a week!!!}

So sweet, slept the whole trip!

Daddy playing with the little one...doesn't she look innocent?!?!

She kept trying to go upstairs and I wouldn't let her, well I underestimated the power of her sneakiness and caught her coming down the stairs...I walked over and in my meanest/disappointed voice said, "Maaaayliee!!!" and she just stopped walking perked her ears and did this.......

I mean, how can you be mad at that?!?!?! And she does it every time she is in trouble!!
"what?! I didn't do anything!"
 Such a smart/sneaky little girl!!!

She LOVED my mother's garden! My mom has ALL kinds of plants, bushes, and decorations in her back yard and little Maylie Lou thought she was in a jungle!! It really was the cutest thing and I was cursing myself for not having a video camera because these pictures do not do it justice. She was bouncing and pouncing and running around and all over everything!!! It was great entertainment for all of us!!

Then she found the waterfall and decided she needed to drink it....and then play in it.....

Then when she was good and soaking wet she decided to lay and roll around in the black mulch...

The boys are chillin' and relaxin'

{and actin' all cool while shootin' some b-ball outside the school, when a couple a guys -they were up to no good, starting making trouble in my neighborhood, I got in one little fight and my mom got scared and said "you movin' with aunty and uncle in Bel Air"!  - okay sorry, i couldn't help myself....}

Any Maylie could not have that......

Then she found a big stick, and sweet sweet big brother waiting patiently for her to drop it so he could snag it!!! Which she did, then he did!

Then she got her first big girl bath!!!

Then cuddled up with a bone! :)

We spent Friday afternoon at Silky O'Sullivan's - the most fabulous Irish Bar! Live music, beautiful weather, and live goats....yes, goats! But sadly the goat was at the doctor with kidney stones on this lovely day.....I couldn't make that this stuff up!

So here is me, the hubs, and the moms trying to remember how to use my timer....

Got it!!! Then.....then, camera died.....

So the rest are with my not-so-fabulous-camera on my iPhone.....

We stopped at the Lorraine Motel, which I have never been to.....with ALL the times I have been to Memphis I never knew where it was and we just kind of stumbled upon it. Sadly the Civil Rights Museum was closing as we got there, but we will definitely go back next time!

So sad, the only pic I got with my precious little niece, Arin!! Us on yet another patio! :)
LOOOOVE this little girl!!!! She is 9 going on 30.

I heart this pic!!
Otto is very worried because Trey is packing up the car and he is ssooooooooo worried we aren't going to take him with us and little Maybellene is just staring up at him wondering what is wrong!
Sooo sweeeeeettt!!!!

Then, last night we decided to grill out on yes, you guessed it, another patio and Trey found this in our grill!!

And it was covered!!! And we just used it last weekend!! The suckers work fast!!!

So, that was our little weekend!!!

Happy Monday and I hope everyone has a superb week!!!
